P.E and Health

At Whitikahu School we believe in developing the whole person. We promote healthy living and healthy thinking (Hauora/Well-being).

We believe that the teaching and learning in health and physical education is helping students to:

• Develop knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values in order to enjoy a healthy balanced lifestyle,
• Contribute actively to the well-being of others,
• Develop skills for enhancing meaningful relationships,
• Take responsibility for their own health and develop a commitment to a healthy, active, and purposeful lifestyle.

Whitikahu students participate in daily physical education and fitness to develop essential skills such as coordination and cooperation, in order to develop body awareness and the joy of movement.

Also, during the summer months we make very good use of our school swimming pool.
