Our Policies

Our school works with SchoolDocs to provide a website for maintaining, updating, and reviewing our school policies. Different policies are under review each term, and our school community can submit feedback. Follow the instructions below to contribute to the review.

  1. Go to the SchoolDocs site for our school by clicking on this link: https://whitikahu.schooldocs.co.nz/1893.htm
This will take you to Current review and review instructions.
  2. Enter the username (whitikahu) and password (country).
  3. The policies listed here are the key policies under review this term. Click on the policy you want to review.
  4. Click the “Start your review” button at the top right-hand corner of the page.
  5. Follow the prompts to submit your review.

Note that you can review any policy that has a “Start your review” button, not just the key policies listed in Current review and review instructions. There will be other related policies in that section of the site open for review.

If you don’t have internet access, school office staff can provide you with printed copies of the policy and a review form.

Annual and Attendance Plans

You may have heard that the Ministry of Education has introduced some changes to how schools plan and report on their progress. We want to keep you in the loop on what this means for Whitikahu School.

What’s Changing?

The government has updated the “Strategic Planning” rules. The focus has shifted to make student achievement the highest priority, along with new goals centered on improving attendance and using clearer assessment data to track how our tamariki are progressing.

Because of these new requirements, the MOE has confirmed that school boards do not need to create a new, long-term strategic plan right now. Instead, we have developed a one-year Annual Implementation Plan – see the link below to check it out. This plan will act as our roadmap for 2026, ensuring we meet the new government standards while continuing to provide the best learning environment for our students.

Next Steps

The plan will carry us through until 2027, which is when our next full three-year Strategic Plan will begin.

Your Voice Matters

Before we lock in that next three-year plan (2027–2029), we will be reaching out to you. Community consultation is a huge part of this process, and we want to hear your aspirations for our school’s future.

Keep an eye out for updates later this year on how you can get involved and share your thoughts!
